HOW TO PLAY
THE SETUP
1. Attach the straps to the ball
2. Screw main stake into the ground
The screw part of the main stake must be all the way underground. Pull on stake to confirm it is firmly in place and not loose.
3. Clip tether to main stake
4. Measure out distance for goal stakes
Pull ball and tether out taught, but NOT stretched. Measure one metal spike length back from the ball, and insert goal stake into ground.
5. Insert all goal stakes into ground
Goal stakes should be evenly spaced around a circle
6. Place all rattles on top of goal stakes
THE GAMEPLAY
1. Guard your stake
2. Hit the opponents' rattles
If the rattle falls off your stake (even if you accidentally hit it) you are out.
If you hear that rattle fall, you know you're out!
Game play does not stop when a player is knocked out. Continue play until one rattle remains.
3. Play until one player's rattle remains
Last player with their rattle wins the point
4. Play to 5 points
ADDITIONAL RULES
Tether Tangles
If the ball gets tangled around a leg or stake, the player may pause the game to untangle the ball with their hands. That player must then kick a low, grounded kick anywhere in play.
This is the only time there's a break in play between points, so recover wisely!
Besides untangling, no handballs are allowed. If a handball occurs, that player must give control of the ball to another player and game play continues.
Who Starts A Point?
The last player to win the point starts with the ball for the next point. The player must kick a low, grounded kick anywhere in play.
Team Play
You can also play on teams - 2 vs 2. Each player lines up opposite their teammate. Both players remain in the game at all times, even when one of their rattles gets knocked off. The point is only won when both teammate's rattles are knocked off. Play to 5 points.
For Beginner Players
For easier goal scoring, try moving the goal stakes a couple inches closer to the out-stretched ball, or have them butt right up against the ball.
If the distance between goal stakes still seems too far, you can make the tether smaller using the built in tensioner.
